How To Access Services

Practically all services, with the exception of HIV testing, requires that the client make arrangements to do an intake. Once the intake is completed, clients receive a case manager and are matched to the services they are in need of.

I just need an HIV test

Those who are in need of an HIV test do not need to do an intake prior to receiving the test. If you are in need of an HIV test and are unable to make it to the TG Center, please call 713-520-8586 to schedule a time (day or night) for a tester to come to you. HIV tests are free and confidential.

Intake

To schedule an intake, please call the helpline at 713-520-8586 or drop by the TG Center. The intake process takes approximately 30 minutes and includes meeting with staff to discuss your needs.

But I just want to come to a group

Attending a support group does not require an intake. However, groups have asked TG Center staff to speak with people interested in attending a meeting before they show up at a meeting. This gives the attendee a chance to better understand what to expect at a meeting.
