A Message From the Director: TG Center

Many of you have already heard the news concerning the bad faith actions of our landlord against the TG Center. Many of you already know that our landlord represented that our lease was not valid because TFA was named CCF at the time we signed the lease agreement. While the act was unfair, unwarranted and very likely illegal, TFA would rather move forward than mire the community in drama.

I want to acknowledge that all of the services we had at the Center will continue while we go through this transitional period. The TG Center has always been about our community coming together to help ourselves and this value lives on. The TG Archive is safe and continues to be developed and you will soon have a number you will be able to call to get help with all things trans.

While the above news is good, here is even better news: TFA anticipates the opening of a new TG Center within the next couple of months. All of the groups (with the exception of the Friday Social) will continue meeting during their regular time at the Haven Center until we move to our new location.

I want to thank all of the members who attended the recent Board meetings, all of the many, many people from near and far that sent in their support and I would like to especially thank the army of wonderful people – people from every segment of our TG community as well as our spouses, friends and family – who came out to move the TG Center in record time!

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, to all of you who brought the old TG Center to life and I look forward to seeing the warmth, courage and unity of this community breath life into our new home a few short months from now!
